NYC native living in NC for more than 30 years. I began running road races New Year's Eve 2000. Five years later I tried 100m in county then state senior games. The distance seemed impossible. Not a leisurely road race! Oy! Other than State Senior Games, I did not compete in track until, eventually, I tried a USATF Regional track Meet (SouthEast Masters). My first USATF Masters Nationals was the Outdoor in Winston-Salem in 2014. In time, after having run a dozen half marathons and road races almost every week, I switched to mainly track because I loved it.When the 400m became too much for me, I added field events.
